Here is a dumb question for you. When is it acceptable to resurface your flywheel and when it it time for a new one?

Thanks

How do I know if the flywheel has been previously resurfaced? Is there a measurement that I can take, like what is done with a rotor?

Thanks

David

You are very welcome. If your flywheel is fried. Mine was too. I got a resurfaced one from AA for $195 plus deposit. Got it in one day! I live 120 miles from AA.

The C dimension on that drwg is not for a 914.

For reference my 914-4 flywheel uncut measured "A"22.5 and "C" 9.5.

you can go 1.5mm less = grind the bolts flat, Dont forget to shim the pivot ball stud the same.

The "C" dimension is for a six, not a 4. The clutch disc center cannot touch the flywheel bolts. I think as long as there is a ridge left you'll be OK.
