Being a newbe is such a pain. Figured out I have the oddball temp sensor with the resistor on top.

Found it toward the back of the passenger side head near cycl 3. What a pain of a location. The wire is busted off. My question is, "how do you get this out?" and "when you get it out how do you get it back in?"

Got a photo of what you have?

13mm deep socket. Run the wire thru the socket, then insert an extension with one corner ground off for the wire to pass by.

Got it out - what a chore - where do I send Christmas cards to the designer of this? Thanks for the heads up.

Anders says the 1.7 sensor or the 2.0 sensor from others years will work. Is this correct?

OK - figured it out - use the 1.7 L cht from '73 and throw in a 270 ohm balast resistor.
