I might be interested, but the website says:

"NOTE: Stage8 will no longer drop ship to individuals. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery, as some items may not be in stock and may require a production run"

So maybe a vendor here could arrange a group buy?

Those bolts are serious overkill.

Maybe so but after hearing about how many people have had problems, $72 is cheap insurance & peace of mind.

Plus for a racecar having a CV come loose at 120 MPH is probably catastrophic for the axle and possibly the tranny depending on which side comes loose. (not to mention the driver when you lose control heading at that concrete wall).

Last RMVR race someone hit the concrete wall head on and was knocked unconscious while his car caught fire. I dont want to be that guy ;-)

I'm thinking those will be perfect for my adapters. Something just scares me about using stock bolts.

I took Cracker's advice and ordered up 20 12.9 M8 45mm bolts from Fastenal for about $11.50, and 50 new Schnorr washers for $9.30, plus the S&H. I went back and forth looking at the Nord-Lock washers just to be extra sure nothing was going anywhere, but eventually decided to see how these Schnorrs worked first.

Haven't had a chance to try them yet, due to my jack deciding to outsource its hydraulic fluid... dry.gif

If you buy longer bolts, like you did, you can put nylock on the other end.

If you go to McMaster.com and search Belleville washers, you will find Schnorr. This was the secret I kept when I then Jim were making the safety bolts. I was selling them for $25 a set and that included the safety wire. The $72 for these over engineered doodads is ridiculous and necessary IMEO.

Who, me? I checked the PET, unless I'm reading things wrong the CV bolts are listed as M8x45. This was consistent with the threads on 944 CVs needing longer bolts. (I did also get a packet of M8x50's in case I find my CVs need to be replaced. Who told you!?! happy11.gif )

What I found more disturbing in the PET was that the lock washers appeared to only be spec'd for the 914-6. blink.gif

CV bolts with safety wire works for me no worries there, but the CV's, axles and transmission are.....my car is stupid fast...
