while i wait for other calipers to come, i'm looking at the ones i have.

i'm having a problem retracting the outer piston into the housing. i've sent the guru eric a pm, but i thought i'd put it out for the crowd too.

shouldn't the pistons seat all the way, like blairs here?

mine move pretty well, but don't want to go that far.

thanks!

Could be a ring of varnish from old scortched fluid stopping it from retracting. Once you rebuild them and clean everything up they will retract.

Keep in mind you should be applying pressure to the piston as you turn the adjustment screw.

If you're trying to reuse the without any kind of rebuilt then stop now because those calipers might not stop you later.
Rebuilding them is easy so please do it. It took me few hours and mine were stuck from 33 years of standing.
