I am bringing back a 74 914 that has not run since 1985.
Tank is out. Carbon filter is out. This is a 2.0L fuel injected one
If I move the fuel pump to the front do you still have to have the supply and return fuel lines. Car came with a not installed stainless fuel line set.
It also came with a new fuel pump but it only has two not three line connections.
Book shows suction, return and damper connection. I will need to get model new pump and see if I can use it. Any comments here? wacko.gif

The fuel injection system requires a return line from the pressure regulator in the engine compartment, regardless of fuel pump location.
A two port pump was standard in '75,'76 models - mounted up front, below the left side of the tank.
If you switch to a two port pump you will eliminate the wye connection that connects the pump bypass to the return line.
