I think this part is causing front/back shifter slop because the wholes for the retaining bolt on that part are larger than on the shifter shaft.

Any replacements out there cheaper than the new Porsche part?

is this the pin in the rear exterior of the shift console (bolted onto the trans?)

That PN is the cast lever arm with the ball. It should fit very snug to the shaft with a roll pin, not a bolt. The roll pin is not expensive. If its holes are drilled out, then it needs to be replaced.

I think I'm guessing which part we are talking about
I did not look it up in the PET

I know some of the race shops will have a machinist enlarge this hole and use very specially hardened replacement pins or bolts.

the exact hole size need to be confirmed or machined for that though
the factory roll pin on the lower side should usually be better

(I know a race tranny shop that tig welds the top end, internally)

Yes. . with the big ball on the end that the cup snaps onto
