So,

What is more probable,

A leaky injector spilling gas on the engine tray OR a leaky "J" hose?

Uh, good chance it is the elbow. If the injector itself leaks it will leak internal to the engine and the engine will run really rich. If the elbow (J?) is cracked, fuel leaks outside the engine. I just had this problem. Moving the injector rail caused a stream of fuel to shoot out the side of the elbow. To get the elbow off the injector, you can cut the crimped band that holds the elbow onto the injector and replace the elbow with straight hose, about 2.5" long and use an injection hose clamp in place of the crimped band.

Awesome!!

MOre fuel fun!!

Get some high pressure FI fuel line and replace ALL of it. Don't take any chances by replacing pieces here and then as fuel leaks in the Fuel line cause gas to spray at 29lbs all over the hot engine until it catches fire! pretty damn hard to put out too.

Easy to replace all the lines, cheap safety measure.

I change them every 3 years....cheap to do.

agree.gif Yes, sorry, forgot to say that you should replace all of them, not just the elbows. Look into replacing the clear plastic lines that run through the tunnel with stainless steel lines also. You can search to find the procedure. Perhaps it is in the classics section.

Might as well change all of them.

I have nothing but time!

and an angry wife "how long will it take this time?",
and an office to run,
and a baby,
and too few tools,
and too little experience.
