Will the same condenser work on the 1.8 and 2.0 distributor?? 009 Pelican shows the exact same for cap, rotor, and points, but different items for condenser. What you think? Thanks smile.gif

When it comes to the condenser, they are all work the same, but they don't MOUNT the same. The mounting is key to whether or not it will work dizzy to dizzy.

There is typically either a round hole or a square hole for which the male spade passes through the body of the dizzy and hooks to the points lead. The whole "round peg; square hole" thing.

Then the mounting to the side of the body for the actual condenser is different between dizzy models. Switching could end up putting the condenser into a position that causes it to prevent it from rotating properly and achieving the correct timing.

With that said, NO, it WON'T fit. All D-jet dizzys use Bosch p/n 02 054 condensers which is a ROUND HOLE unit. All 1.8 L-jet cars use Bosch p/n 02 074 which is a SQUARE HOLE unit. The 01 011 points, 04 038 rotors and 03 010 caps fit just about ANY air-cooled 4-cylinder motor after about 1970 The condensers, however change model to model to accommodate the space requirements of the motor for which they were intended.

So I discovered last night. Have a HotSpark on order and want to keep a good points set on hand. Rightly. The 009 has the round hole and the 1.8 dist. has the square. Thanks
