Well, my first AX was a success! I took TTOC (top time of class), more 914's than any other model.
Monkey wrench (art), Screwloose (shawn), Joe Sharp, KdFouust (kevin), hershell, MxMark (mark), /L, and Brando were all in attendance. got about 30 laps of practice and 3 timed runs... TTOD was a 59.?? and i took the class win (between me and hershel) with a 102. i had too much fun. falkens stick like glue.....
Joe Sharp, and others took lots of pictures. Please post away!

30 laps? with only like 10 cars what do you expect?

, they let you also let you run passengers etc when the event was "over" (left the course up for 20 min)

Sounds like you had a great time.
For 30 runs, I might drive down there for an A/X
We're running next weekend at "Monster" park
( Candlestick ). There'll be something like 100 drivers <_<
Unless it rains.

It was kinda neat to see a bunch of 914s at the AX even if I didn't bring mine. I was driving one of the "other" cars.
The Riverside region AX is the best AX going in SoCal. These are tight courses that reward skillful driving. It would be nice if they'd get 20 or so cars at an event.
Have fun,
Kevin

Had to go while the car was still drivable. The clutch in the car I had is a rubber isolation mounted clutch plate...the mount failed during pass 6 in my second session. The car was then left in a mechanically coupled limp-home mode...
I decided to limp home rather than flat-bedding it 80 miles
Later,
Kevin

ouch. im sorry that happened. you were flying out there!
so how did you get it home? no clutching?
BTW nice meeting you
kdfoust
Oct 24 2004, 08:48 PM
Very careful clutching and a light foot on the gas.
Does anyone know what Brent's (guy in the red IP class SC) best time was? We've got a friendly rivalry going...
