I've started changing out my gaskets on the 2.0 before I put everything back together and have a question. One of the copper gaskets has 'twisted". I'm not sure why...the manifold went on straight and I torqued it down in sequence. Will this seal or should it be replaced?

That should be replaced.

I thought so (was hoping not)......just don't know why it happened!

Btw did you anneal those gaskets before installing them? It helps them seal better.
billh1963
No...must have missed that. Please define the process?

Heat them up with a torch until red hot and let them cool. It softens the copper up.

Take a torch and soften the copper gasket a little bit before putting it on.

Guess I'll pull the manifolds tomorrow and try it again!

If the gasket is in the recess in the head, and the pipe is on the gasket, it should be fine.

It is in the recess....just not sure why it is twisted. Very weird that it twisted.
