You may remember that I had a bad fuel smell some time ago. Well, the smell is gone as is all of my gas and some of my driveway. Upon finding all this out, as soon as I turn the key to on, the fuel pump makes quite a racket. It kink of sounds like a quarter settling down after being spun on a table. It's that kind of quick ticking sound.

Before I attempt to crawl under this thing, does anyone have some ideas? Could the pump be making this noise because there's no fuel flowing through it?

Damn, I really wanted to go for a ride, it's been a long time.

my pump makes lots of noise when theres no gas in it.

doesnt running a pump dry hurt it?

FWIW,

My fuel pump makes a fast ticking noise and gradually slows down as pressure is built in the system. My pump is a bendix style fuel pump not an original /6 fuel pump.

I'm also having fuel pump issues so i feel the pain...
