The guy I used to restore Alfalfas for has closed his shop and offerd me a good deal on his lift. It is now in service

Yet another step in the right direction I hope. Scraping by isn't fun, but it does seem to pay off every once in a while

Yep it's a HH 7000 pd max.load. So, short of my truck, or maybe Chrysler; it should do anything I need. Cal me a freak or geek, but it's kind of cool as I actually have a long history with this particular one too.

Good on ya mate, if you're in the biz you have to have one, saves your body. I still think I was a dumbass for not having one sooner.
My 7000lbs AAMCO will lift a full size P/U no problem, it just won't lift a dually or a full size van that's fully loaded. A good used built in USA lift is hands down better than the cheap china lifts.
Good score.

If your customers don't thank you, your back, knees and shoulders will. . .
Congrats on the purchase!!

Since you're in the business, a lift will more than pay for itself in short order due to increase productivity. It literally costs money not having a lift IMHO.

Great for axle/brake work and dropping engines. Love my 4 post for storing stuff, lifting engines, and loading my pickup. Can wheel rental equip like aerators off the p/up onto the lift then onto the ground!
Now you can service Evils vehicles everytime he arrives !

Well, that will be just fine. The car nor the motor that are to be mated up to it are ready yet. You know I am a patient fellow. Now where is my damn 5 pack with the teener in it?

why so much rust there?
Is that typical on taildraggers?
euro911
Sep 4 2012, 04:33 PM
Not too typical, but it does happen to varying degrees. It's usually from leaving the car outside in salt air environments with the rear windows open for long periods of time
Not sure where that one resided most of it's life, but that's pretty nasty
scotty b
Sep 4 2012, 07:23 PM
rear window seals shrink up crack and leak. There is a foam pad on top of the rear shelf from the factory. It holds water right nicely. Funny thing is, the front half of the pass floor, and the whole drivers floor are amazingly perfect. Still has the factoy black paint well adhered. I've got an 83 targa body I'll be cannibalizing niceley preserved galvanized panels from >:

is it even worth trying to get a long nose for a decent price? I'm missing my 356 that I sold about 10 years ago - man that thing is worth 3-4 times what I sold it for then!

Even basket case 356 projects are stupid expensive now. Are the long nose 911s there yet?

well that didn't go well. Look for the June 2012 Panorama. The 73 S I just started on, they are now valueing at 165,000.00 in perfect shape. And they give my 73 T with MFI 115,000.00

232 Registry News (as of April 2012)
Hello Guys,
here is the updated owners list.
If anyone has recent information changes let me know.
With the run up in the cars just following ours, those built in January [1965], we may have to have another
talk with our insurance providers....
Most notable was the January 1965 car 300 278 which xxxxxxxx placed on ebay with very good
information and photos. Although needing a restoration it topped out at $102K
Another car, new to us, 300 218 is in the process of moving from Montana to Europe.
If anyone has info on the car or who is involved with the deal have them contact us.
Our intentions are totally honorable.
We can account for our three prototypes, 58 known cars and 19 that are no-longer.
(The rumored cars are still on the "gone missing" list).
xxxxxxxx has just added 300134 to his collection, a hearty welcome. Jochen
Bader at the factory is minding the store on a few touch up items on this great car.
There was a stellar story on Prototype 13 327, xxxxxxxxx's car in "Motor Trend Classic"
this spring. If you would like a copy of the story I have it in .jpg form. Just drop me a note and
I can send it.
xxxxxxxxx is the proud owner of the recently completed 300 018. It has finished it's first
showing in Geneva. I'm a little partial to red cars so this made my heart pace faster.
Welcome back to the living.... this transformation is legendary. Alois Ruf knows these cars
doesn't he.
If you read "Classic Porsche" out of England you might look for issue #10, xxxxxxxxxx's
car makes the news via Coy's. And issue #11 has another of our 232 cars, a 400k mile driver
making an appearance.
All is good. drive fast.
