Quite a time ago I bought an early 911/912 "Butterfly" horn button in bad condition.
After disassembling all the parts I decided to completely restore it. So I got the parts to a guy who did the sandblasting and knew other guys that could paint the big main part as well as newly zincplate the other parts. The chrome ring got re-cromed by another guy. Found new rubber horn cuffs at Stoddard (Ohio) and a new leatherette pad at a dealer in Mexico. As a new padding (underneath the leatherette pad) I used a part of anti-static foam from the electronic part shipping biggrin.gif

well, here's the result:

Is the pad leatherette...or leather?

it's leatherette

I also have a leather one, but that's for the GT horn button
