#1 - wipe down with mineral spirits and rattle can some etch primer on area.

#2 - apply metal ready but does this requires a wash down after application ???

is there any rust prep that only needs to be aplplied by clotch or brush and does not need a follow up proceddure?

Jim,

I asked this question some time back and here's what I got in reply. I do these in the order below:

Ospho, primer, seam sealer, lacquer...if it's underneath a non-concours car, you can apply undercoating over that last step.

I have bunches of would-be bare metal all over my car now. When I'm done grinding, I brush on a thin coat of Ospho (stuff's like water) and let it dry. The metal stays rust free in my garage and I live in a very humid place, as do you, parts of the year.

"brush on a thin coat of Ospho"

does the ospho need to be removed or neutralized before primeing?

thanks beerchug.gif
