As averse as I am to rebuilt CV joints, there's a possibility that a local quality rebuilder may be able to do some for me, but I have to come up with a bunch of cores and the bucks to have them done, and they'll likely cost at least as much as the new ones did. We bought complete NEW assemblies (the last of them from a Porsche German wharehouse) Now we get to use the crappy VW ones that the gaskets dont fit.

We probably have 400 pairs of used axles... some of them must be good.

I traded about a dozen axles to a local rebuilder in exchange for one good set. He had trouble making up the one set. I respected his work very highly.
