My local excellent body and paint man wasn't much help with how to spot repair some road chips and a front fender zit which goes to bare metal. I touched up with the dab of original paint(lacquer?) Dad had from original purchase, but the priority here is to keep the beautiful toy paint as original as possible. This L99 is growing on me- family always called it "urine yellow," but now it stands out well in a parking lot!

If the paint is lacquer, I do not know, if it is bc/cc, I can give you some tricks.

As far as fixing these problems, you can't touch up a metallic paint like you can non-metallic. The cheapest, quickest solution is to do like you did and dab a little color into the damage.
