OK, so I put in a Craigslist ad for a '67 Dart project for $3500....here's a response...

Thank you for getting back to me.Can you assure me that it's in good
state and i will not be disappointed with it.I'm ready to pay your
asking price and to be honest, i wanted to buy this for my Son and i
want it to be a surprise gift for him, but the issue is i am an
oceanographer and i do have a contract to go for which starts tomorrow
and am on my way right now.The contract is strictly no call due to the
lack of reception on the sea area. But I'm able to access email
anytime as we will make use of laptop and also i can text you any time
so my only quickest payment option is PayPal as i can send money via
PayPal anytime.Since I'm requesting this transaction to be done via
PayPal, i will be responsible for all the PayPal fee/charges on this
transaction and if you don't have an account with PayPal, its pretty
easy, safe and secured to open one. Just log on to www.PayPal.com. I
hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? I have a mover that
will come for it once payment clears and they will be handling all the
necessary thing for me. So i we be looking forward to hear back from
you soon...

I kept a guy from Benin (western Africa, at the bottom of the bulge) going for about a month and a half. He even sent me the (fake) money orders, which I have saved along with the envelope with the neat postage. I finally got tired of the game and told him that I had known all along after he started insisting I either send back the MO's or cash them and send the money. To give some idea of the value of the car, I paid $250 for a 1984 Camaro Berlinetta in the fall, drove it all winter (stupid, I know) putting about $130 into it, and sold it to a kid as a project for $400 in the spring. You just can't keep an instrument panel in that model, all digital and real fragile.

Guys, you can't expect him to be available when he's "on the sea area"...I think you're being way too harsh... av-943.gif What form of payment is he looking for? Paypal or?

Hey forget about this guy...what does that Dart look like? Any pics? Late '60's Darts are so awesome.

I looked at a nice 85 928S in San Diego a few months back, & that guy said he'd relisted it on evil-bay for the same scam - except he was a "fisherman" that time! dry.gif .....a-hole scammers - go get a real useful job!

I did the same thing on some parts - the Money Order was pretty cool. The scammer got pissed I when I stopped responding to his eMails
