Various listings show 2 engines for the 1973.
1973
2.0L 1970CC 120Cu. In. H4 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated
2.0L 1971CC H4 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated
How do you know which one you have?
What is the significance? -- none --

The "1970cc" is just a rounding of the 1971cc displacement. Unless you have some funky aftermarket parts, your two-liter (stock) 914 motor has 1971cc displacement.

I apologize for reviving an old thread. I just bought a '73 2.0. I have had a '75 2.0 for about a year. When looking at parts for the '73, I notice all of the parts databases show a 1970 cc and a 1971 cc engine option. Not so for the '75 2.0.
So, is there any difference in the 1970 cc and 1971 cc options? Is it OK to just pick either one?

One in the same.

You can call the GA (or the GB or the GC) motor a "2.0 liter", or a "1970cc", or a "1971cc". Same motor, just three different ways of approximating the actual displacement.
