The title says it all. I am rebuilding starting with a 2 liter engine - actually a 1,7 case, but 2 liter crank and heads. Need help choosing a cam for Stock FI. I like the stock FI, and perhaps should have stayed with the original displacement, but I want a wee bit more power.

Actually I want a lot more power, but that is why I also have the 3.2 in the background.

Advice about cams for a 2056 build and also about oil pumps would be much appreciated. Also, I really do want to not go the carb route. Thanks!

The stock cam works, nearly all others don't. BTDT on a professional level. There are folks that say Jake Raby's cam works well.

I have heard divergent tales regarding some of the webcam offerings. Since the Raby cams are no longer available how do you think a webcam model might compare with stock?

You may want to try Elgin cams in Santa Rosa. I've used them in the past when they were located in Redwood City. If I remember correctly, they have a 330-1 cut that can be used with stock FI. You will also probably want to go with heavier valve springs to help keep the valve seats in place and prevent valve float. I seem to recall that 928 valve spring work or you can contact Scat or Fat IV for HD or dual spring set-ups.

If your turning hi rpm's, yes dual spgs. otherwise stay single. your keeping the 1.7 rockers, right. you'll need to set your idle adj full lean, also. it will want to idle rich but how many of us sit in traffic or idle for long periods. has a bit of a lope to it. you'll like it. it's a kick in the pants compared to stock.

I won't be in the high RPMs - I run the stock RPM limiter on the distributor rotor - I think 5500 cuts out. Plus it is a '76, so I think there is an FI rev limit for that year too, but the information on that I find a bit hazy
