Is there a better place to buy the sandwhich adaptor other than BAT? Is there a better adaptor than Mocal? Should I even bother with a thermostat for a track car? (It does get cold here in CA sometimes).

What about local speed shops. The ones every other part fits a Chebby...
Maybe...

I used BAT, and was very happy with them. Polite and prompt, good product.
If your car is driven on the street, I would get one with a thermostat. That thermostat will help keep your engine warm enough, as well as cool enough.

Try Mckenzie's on Orangethorpe. Tel. No. (714) 441-1212. Bought my oil cooler, fan, sandwich adaptor, hoses, thermostat from them.

Milt, we have never had a thermostat on the oil lines to the front oil cooler on my race car. The shop that did the initial install years ago said they are not needed and so far have been right. I am careful to let the oil heat up somewhat before I run the engine hard (remember I have a dry sump system though). Good luck.
