Have 76 that has been sitting for several years ...Gas take is a mess from what I can see. Also looks like it has a lot of baffling etc insdide that earlier tanks do no have. Are there any issues with using earlier tank or what is perfect match (years) .

You can use an earlier tank. The baffles are all the same (as far as I've seen). The breather setup is slightly different, but you can install the late breather box on the early tank. Oh, and the outlet pipes on the bottom are slightly different on the late tank. But you can swap those to the replacement tank as well.
