Full Version: hydraulic jack - needs more fluid?

yesterday it woulod not jack car up to its normal highest height - with car off, it seems to go to full height.

should i put a little hydraulic fluid in at one of the two locations on jack?

Probably a Seal - my Craftmans last about 2 years before a seal leaks

my jack started acting up and i thought the same thing. blown seal, or needed fluid. then i read online somewhere that, now cant remember the exact procedure, but you either open the valve or close it, reach down and manually pull the jack up thru its stroke a few times. it cured my problem for over a year now. musta got air in somewhere. but pull it up thru its stroke a few times must have blead the system. cant hurt to try it....
