so they dont send them out until they have 7500 orders?
PSS - Thanx toCairo for digging this up & posting it. I'd heard about it, but not that they actually passed the bill & started the program pre-orders.
No - as soon as they hit 7500, then 6-12 months to produce them thereafter - whenever it is that they hit 7500.
So no rush, & it does no good to hid this program because they''l cancel it if they do not get 7500 by 2015.
Plus they start sooner - the sooner they get to 7500!
So spread the word all around!
FAQs -
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/legacyplates/faqs.htmLegacy plates main page -
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/legacyplates/index.htmreg17L form to apply -
http://apps.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg17L.pdfGo for it folks!!!!
PS - The form gives the choice to pick them up at the AAA office of your choice - avoiding DMV mess, but you can't order them there, by mail seems best.
It also says they're reflectorized in the FAQs - so I'll probably stick with my original blue/gold for my 73 914-2.0 & just clean them up, but since the form includes trailers, we may get a gold/black one for my wife's new toy - a restored vintage 1960 Avion T20 travel trailer (sim. to Airstream), unless we locate a cherry vintage plate from 1960 for the DMV's YOM program instead.
