I have seen several times on EvilBay and other places, a heater blower for the 914. The only thing that blows heat in mine is the cooling fan driven by the alternator belt and totally dependent upon engine speed. Windows fog quickly at idle. Is there an electric heater motor on my car that is in need of repair. If so, where would I find it? The one I've seen advertised is different from the fresh air blower motor.

The electric heater fan is located below the relay board. Can't miss it if ya have one. Defroster will suck at idle without it.

Then of course you will need all the little bits to make it work right. Ducting tubes that go through the sheet metal, hose to connect tubes to fan, then little flapper pieces at the output of the fan. (work as check valves).

the fan is energized by pulling up all the way on the heater handle. This enables a ground connection for the blower motor. Should see a wire connection if you pull the handle assembly out. Power is wired through the relay board.

Oh yea ENJOY.

Hey we need an Electrical Trouble shooting Smilie. Like scratching his head with puzzled look on his face. confused24.gif

If you have the fan, you can test it directly to the battery to see if it works. 75 and later, the motor housing is plastic and has a dual elbow attachment for the hoses. You can use either style motor. I have a good 73 motor if you need one.

Thanks a million!! It's there. There just wasn't a relay in place to run it.
