I am cleaning up my seat rails and parts are quite rusty. It looks like they were plated, but after 40 years, not good enough.
If I media blast, most likely I am going to take off the remaining plating. If I paint them after, I think that they might bind.
If I wipe them down with WD40, I think that would stop from rusting only for a short time.
Other than replating, any suggestions on rust prevention that would not be too thick like paint, and yet last?
Thanks,
John
