As nice as those cars may be, unfortunetly you open up a can of worms with those claims.

Great car, but who placed that relais there ...?

Yeah, that is a nice car, but they didn't bother to show any shots of the areas that may be a problem.
I do dig the 80s style sail mirrors and the electrical tape on the heater hoses is the best in the world, no doubt. If I were to buy it I would probably save that tape when I replace them and sell the scraps on e-bay as the best used tape in the world...
$23,500 is too much for that car in my opinion, even if it is a survivor (mostly).
oh and that 1982 style auto reverse cassette deck is the best in the world as well...

Now that one looks pretty damn clean. Still, LOTS of MONEY
I agree the starter relay should be in the engine compartment if used at all.

I'll have to say that the Samba car has far more worth than the evilbay car. The Samba car (quirky color, but I like it) has proven photographically that is what I would call "slick", and comcours ready with a few hours work. Appears to be very well restored, so it's not going to be considered original.
There are a number of nit-picks I have with the '76, but I love the color. "Perfect" and "nicest" are bad terms to use for any car, but the '76 has a lot of negatives.
They are both worthy cars......but.
The '74 is the second best performing 914-4. The '76 is not.
The '74 is ready & willing to perform anywhere. The '76 is limited, and will require some serious bucks to match the quality of the '74.
I feel that the '74 is fairly priced, given the costs of resto and the world market lust for these. Maybe a little high, but hey, the work is done. And, it's a significant multiple PVA national concours winner.
I also feel that the '76 is a darned good base (assuming the chassis & hellhole are good), and could be a great owner. Price is seriously too high though, particularly because it isn't a well-optioned car and down on performance.
I'd take the '74, in a nano, for 18k. '76 - 12K maybe.
But, what do I know?

Had it less than 2 weeks? Makes one wonder if something is wrong with the car. Sure looks nice!
