Ever since the Forum has been on the new server I've had to deal with a f#@*ing cookie here. I have IE with cookies set to manual and per session cookies on automatic (I think).
Even if I let my computer sit for just a few minutes I have to allow a cookie to look at another thread.
None of the other forums I visit give me this shit. What gives?

Spysweeper cleans them off soon as they are loaded. It's freeware. Pretty decent program.

I know that, but I never had to accept a new one here until the new server was installed. I get a new cookie if I just sit still for a few minutes.

What you need is a set of cookie cutters

that's the way the BBS works ...

it uses cookies to store info on your computer about threads you already looked at.
you can give less restictive cookie rights to a certain domain/url ...

just override your basic settings for www.914world.com and you'll be fine,

I didn't realize I could customize this for individual URLs.
Now I just have to find the controls for it.

My version of IE requires a site to be https in order to add it to my list of trusted sites. I don't see any other custom options that help.
Besides, this doesn't explain why it only started after the server was replaced, and why I don't have this problem at any of the other forums I visit, and they all remember what I have already viewed, etc.

Also interesting is the fact that since I started this discussion I haven't had to accept a cookie.

huh? it's *not* in the "security" settings, not the trusted sites ...

go to the "Privacy" tab as described in my earlier post.
all you need to do is to add the "914world.com" domain and specify "Always Allow" as a setting ...

I only looked into the security settings because there is no Privacy tab on my screen.

Version 6.0? I don't know. Apparently its a dinosaur.

I love cookies.

Especially chocolate chip, and oatmeal-raisin. But my favorite by far... warm peanut butter cookies fresh from the oven.
