Hi Im looking for a set of chrome good or refinishable euro style bumpers with no holes in them for bumperettes etc. for 1971. also a complete side shifter linkage set up thanks

Also FYI, the 70-72 front bumpers on the USA 914s were the same as the Euro 70-74 ones (both chrome & painted), as the front bumperettes only applied to 73-74 USA 914s.

So you really only need to find a good 70-72 chrome front bumper 914/4 or -6.

Check the classifieds, TheSamba.com & eBay if the ones above don't work out, as I've seen some recently for sale in the last few weeks.

Make sure you get a quality chrome shop to do a good triple-chrome job on them - copper-nickel-chrome plating, with enough copper laid on & properly smoothed/finished to get that good shine! smile.gif

weird bc my new project appears to be a stock 1971 1.7 and its got the huge ugly crash bumpers etc. I thought of welding up all the holes but im pretty sure chrome doesnt stick to filler...

I have a set of original bumpers that has had a top quality chrome job done, Pilothyer(Jerry) has seen them and can vouch for how they look, I can send pics of them if you would like,

That is not exactly true. The 70 - early 71 rear bumper is different then the later 71 - 74. The license plate area is a straight cut, while the later 71 - 74 has a curve at the bottom.

OOOHHH that makes sense---the guy I bought my 914 roller from called it a '72' but the pink says its a '71' so mayhaps I have a 'late' 71----at any rate I love the euro bumper clean subtle look
