As the distributor fires the injectors you must replace the diet distributor with a diet distributor...

A freshly rebuilt stock distributor is the best replacement.
Very few distributors out there have the extra set of trigger points for the D-jet system. Of those, the distributor designed specifically for the 914 engine is the best bet.
