Has anyone tried an electronic ignition points replacement like this one?

works great, but buy 2 of them. Keep the spare in your glovebox

I was using a Crane Fireball XR3000 with the optical trigger. On the advise from FAT Performance I have replaced it with a Compu-Fire ignition. I have been completely happy with the decision, plus I got rid of all that crane wiring. FAT Performance says they have been running that ignition on all their motors for years without issue.

If I have a stock 2.0l 76 D-jet in my car. what distributor is stock with that? Will this ignition work with what I have?

the stock Djet distributor runs the FI also...
so you have to stay with the stock distributor

but they make ignitions that will fit into the stock distributor
it depends if you want to go with an optical ignition or a hall effect sensor ignition...

but they make a pertronix (similar to your picture) that fits into a stock Djet distributor.
