No sir. The ones pictured in Glenn's initial post are real.
Those ones Erc made for you are formed out of styrene and painted. Remember - they are for show only.

I'm weighing everything I change on the car. I'll let you know the difference in the caliper weight when I change them. I'll change them all out when I get the front "S" calipers which should be any day.

I'll get the "S" calipers any day now and no, I won't be going racing. But lighter IS better yes?

I drove a 914-6 with a 3.2 in it and it had S front calipers and 6 rears (solid rotors). It's a nice setup and stops the car very well from triple digit speeds.
That drive was a big factor in the route I'm taking on my brothers 3.0 6 conv. ( I should start a blog on it )..
You will not be disappointed with the braking of that setup.
I'm going with a full f/r Boxster brake setup on my 6 but haven't driven a car with these brakes on it... Sir Andy how do you like your brakes so far ??
Eric is the man when it comes to brakes... I can't wait to try them out.

Looking great Luke.
For the record. All ATE steel caliper were finished in yellow zinc. The process was a rather quick "factory" job and they had a fairly light yellow dichromate layer. After years of various cleaning and sitting in acidic brake dust, the yellow dichromate layer begins to wear and they look more clear. This is why some people think the calipers were silver or clear plated.
100% of the ATE calipers we've disassembled have been yellow zinc (and no, we don't rattle can or copy-cad our calipers)
