When the pads are cold, its fine, but when they heat up, it sounds like metal on metal. Time for new pads? AFAIK, these are stock pads, nothing fancy...

Rotors Mic fine. Never had to replace brake pads before, so.....
They also only do it when they are warm to hot.

Just remove a wheel and peek in the back of the caliper. Kinda hard to see in there, but you should be able to tell if the pads are gone. Could be a sticking piston that wore one side faster than the other.

It sounds similar to my last brake experience --- check now. In my case, the delay ended up in warped rotors, which was an unnecessary added expense.

That's not going to tell you anything. I had the same thing happen. I couldn't see that the pad was gone untill I actually took the wheels off and pulled the pads out of the caliper. I think it was the inboard rear pad on one side which had worn more than the others.
