Who makes a good 195x50x15 performance tire? Does anyone make a drag radial or something like a Hoosier that will fit a 15x6 wheel? The 205 tires are easy to find, but that is too big for a 15x6, right?

TIA

you can run a 205 on a 6inch rim

heck in our vintage racing there are guys running 225's on a 6 inch rim
granted the tire mounting shops hate those guys..

if you want extreme performance and are not too worried about foul weather... why not go with a DOT track tire. Something that will last a little bit longer than a hoosier... like a toyo unshaved

I run a 205/50/15 on my 4 lug Fuchs with a narrow bodied car. For street I really like the Kuhmo Ecsta XS.

I've been running 205/50/16 BFG F-Force on my 16/6 Fuchs without a problem.

I've been super happy w my 205/50 Dunlops beerchug.gif
Originally had 195/50 Dunlops which lowered gearing and everything else
The 205s have more surface contact so an upgrade for AX when slipping around fast corners was a problem
I got the Direzza Star Spec in 2011 and now want to upgrade to their newest street-race tire the Direzza ZII

The tire of choice for 914-4 (narrow body) and 356 Vintage racers is the Hoosier Speedster 205/60R15 is legal and fits a 15x6 wheel. Rim spec is 5.5"-7.5"

its a race tire
common in vintage clubs
and meets some of the strict tread rules and strict 60 series rule, that some vintage clubs use

I'm running Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs in a 195-55-15. I bought them on close out. Tirerack no longer sells that size, but they do have it in the new ZII. It looks even more aggressive then the Star Spec.

FWIW, here is the 205/50 Hoosier on a 15x6 wheel. I think this size is going to work perfect for my car. I probably will buy the Kumho instead of Hoosiers. I just wanted to post this as a follow up showing the 205/50 would work well on the 15x6

Excellence magazine, June issue, has an excellent article on extreme performance tires. They cover 6 tires. Worth the price for that info alone. Then there is the write up on the 2014 Cayman!

Your car looks perfect. How costly was it to upgrade to your 5 lug fuchs? I also like your trunk tail. Looks great.

I own a 975 2.0 and have been fixing her up. TThe engine and tranny have just been overhouled and now looking at the body. If you have any reccomenddations that is greatly appreciated from a fellow 914 owner.

Thank you

Peter
