Need to know which wire hooks up to which prong on the interior backpad light. The schematics are not detailed enough for me to determine that. It shows the 3 wires, but not where they connect on the back of the light.
Thanks,
Tod

doing this from memory so it might be wrong:
hot wire to end of light with one connector
then there are 2 brown grounds one is from the door switches the other is from a constant ground
the door switch on gives ground to the light when the door is open the other connects the light to ground when you switch it on ... best is trial and error

There are 3 wires that go to the interior light, and there are 3 connections on the light. Two of the connections are on the end of the bulb with the switch. The brown with a white tracer wire is from the door jamb switches, and will turn the light on when the door is opened. The solid brown wire is constant ground. Both of them should be connected to the switch end of the light. The other wire should be constant power, and should connect to the other end of the light by itself.
The brown with a white tracer wire on 73 and later 914s went through the seatbelt relay under the passenger seat. The relay will fail and make the interior light not work with the doors. All you have to do is bypass the door switch wires on the seatbelt relay.

Thanks guys, car blew a fuze so just wanted to insure I had it hooked up right. I see the hazzard is on the same fuze as that light. So, I'm guessing my hazzard switch might be bad. The problem occurred when I had that on with the light recently.
