OK, kidding aside....
A borrowed set of DP valve covers...nice to see other peoples mistakes, so you don't make them yourself. biggrin.gif
I have to cut the half cap on the chain cover and then I can make a perfect hole on my turbo cover.

Isn't there also a minor mod you have to do on the turbo covers for the 914?
Mark Henry
Of course I'm not happy just working on one project rolleyes.gif

I'm almost ready to zip up the case on my type 4
This engine was originally for my 914 but DWS set in (and I took a break for a while, something like 4-5 years ago) and plans changed to a 3.0 /6

This puppy is now destined for my '67 bug biggrin.gif

If you're using turbo valve covers on a 914-6, you need to machine some of the ribs off the end 1/4 of the lower valve cover to be able to remove the cover when the engine is in the car. Pics have been posted somewhere, but I don't remember where right now.

Try to shoot for next Saturday, I'm busy all week and on Sunday I have a burn and I'll be totally dead.

Try four builds... I'm on a roll....

The T4 is balanced, I need to get the /6 engine done or at least the flywheel assembly.

So on the /6 I'm up around 9.9 to 1 CR, I think I can bump that up a bit by off-setting the rod small end bushing.

I need new valves, I'm thinking of going totally custom and using 8mm stems biggrin.gif
Mark Henry
Still didn't get the timing chain housing hole straight, had a brain fart rolleyes.gif
Oh well, not critical any ways. Milled the ribs.
