I see that AA has a front turn signal boot to seal the wire connection in the wheel well. Does anyone do anything different?

AA turn signal boot is #10

I was just adding up the $ to get mine back to snuff. Wow they add up fast. Wire boot $28, lens seal $12, side marker seal $8, maybe new lenses, both front and side. I will probably wait on the lenses. Plus there is a boot for the side marker that appears to be NLA.

What do the masses do to keep the wires dry?

Most of the masses buy from 914rubber.com ...

I do have a few OEM ones in stock, yes $28 is the factory cost. However, I am working on reproducing these as I know they were going NLA. Figured that at $28 a pop it was a good item to look at. I plan to sell these at a price better than $28 for 2. These should be ready in about 8 weeks. as soon as the project moves further along I'll be posting a group buy.

Don't I know it. For a while there I thought everything on this car was going to cost me $600 (or more). Things have calmed down since I finished the engine. Still crazy, but I am living with it.

I bought these from AA, the allegedly genuine ones, and they don't look original at all. I called and George said that Porsche gets theirs from the same people as the replacements. I don't know if I believe it though. The "genuine" ones from aa look like the pic above. The originals aren't so glossy, they have part numbers cast in. -I see thay have marked the originals as nla now, nevermind...bastards.

I bought some new old stock out of Germany and the rubber was glossy. Looked like from an aluminum tooling mold.

Is the material rubber or silicone. If silicone it's not OEM.

I don't think it's silicone. I wish it was, since that would probably hold up better since it is different anyhow.

There is glossy and there is glossy like in the pic above which is too glossy. It feels different and no part numbers. not fooled by the porsche bag. I think the originals were like 35 each. I want my $20 back dry.gif

So glad to hear this as mine are crumbling away into oblivion.

I've got a set of both of those repros from George. I am cautious about buying stuff from him. I have returned many things. These are good parts. Your going to have a lot more surprises if these are too expensive. Duct tape..
