I seem to be suffering from broken clips syndrome. I broke one of my trunk targa top clips a week or two ago and I just found that the clip that holds the rain tray drain/spring break beer funnel in place is also broken. Any recommendations on what glue to use to dry to get these back together? I tried epoxy on the targa clip but I think the break was to clean and the epoxy didn't have anything to "grab" on to. Wandering if model glue, the type that fuses the plastic together, would work better. Any suggestions would be great! or maybe I'm the only one this has happened to...

ACE or other hardware stores will carry "plastic glue". It works sometimes.

Replacement is better solution.

One of my funnel clip tab was broken too so I swapped the right side clip for left side. The clip has tabs on both sides.

Just by a new one and avoid the cost of buying a bunch of glues that won't work well for this application. The material itself is a slick plastic which is difficult to glue, and the part is probably old and brittle.

The next break is usually right across the glue line for one of two reasons. First, glues are almost never stronger than the material being glued so the softer glue line is a natural break point. Two, glue doesn't stick well to certain types of plastic (like this one) and the glue separates from the plastic.

Yep, doesn't matter what glue you use--none of them will work for those.

Yup. Dave Darling has it right. You can glue it as long as you put the finished product in a glass case and never touch it.

There is a special plastic repair kit that uses a powder and CA (superglue) to bond plastics and fill.

I've been told you can use baking soda as a filler with CA, but haven't tried it. Give it a shot. The color will even be about the same.
If you need a new upper clip I do have them, but I'm betting you won't need it.

Baking soda is not a filler, it's a kicker that sets CA up quickly.

Squirt CA on the table, mix in some baking soda and that mix will foam and bubble and release a lot of heat. You end up with a CA foam that's not real strong.

Somebody has been making a fortune for years selling baking soda in water as a CA "Accelerator" at the hobby stores.
