So I went downtown tonight to check out an air cooled 83 Westfalia, almost didnt go as i would prefer a watercooled one but figured what the heck, maybe it was something special... It wasnt. Talking a little bit though i mention I do a lot with 914s and he says he has something I want to see. We go into a warehouse 50ft away and climb over a bunch of stuff and then this...
Only had my cellphone so pics are crappy but...

I was not able to go over it with a fine tooth comb as accessability was pretty limited, really dirty but from what i could tell it looked to be about as rust free a 914 as i have ever seen in Utah and better then most i saw when i was in california as well. Said it has been parked since the early 90s. It sounded like he was looking to get rid of some cars for financial reasons so we discused a little about what it might be worth, dont think he was 100% on selling this one yet but for the right price you never know. If i did not have 5 already I probably would have pushed it a bit as I would take this car in a heartbeat (might actually consider giving up one of my other ones if a deal could be made on this one)
I told him i would throw it out to the world maybe find the right interested party, otherwise he is going to sit on it until he has resources to pay someone to get it driving again.
I would love to get a closer look in good light, but from what i have seen so far it looks like a really good car to clean up.

Did you get the VIN?
No, i thought about that right after i left too.
It was a 72. I might reach out again and see if i can get it.
