The first prototype should be finished by tomorrow.
I need a vehicle to put it on for testing.
Anyone local want to try it out?

I would be up for one except I have 1.7 liter HE's
If you get around to building one for the 1.7 HE's let me know..I dont want it quiet
I do want it up high and tight with nothing showing below the short valance.

If done correctly, all that will be obvious is the two outlet tips.
A cutout in the valence will be necessary to provide clearance for the tips.
Or if you want to show off the muffler delete the rear valence.
Rich, its easy to remove sound deadening features and turn up the volume.

If you made them, please install a bung for an O2 sensor...
And make them for the 1.7-1.8 exhausts too.
Damn that looks good.
Any power advantage over running a Bursch?

That looks good Chris. I hope it works and you sell a bunch, so that there is an alternate muffler available to the 914 group.
Looks sort of like my stainless steel muffler from MittleMotor in Germany. Well, maybe not. But, sort of.
The MittleMotor muffler is a straight tube with a single end outlet in the stock location. Good quality. Fairly heavy.

Chris, Could you elaborate on this? What does the inside of a Mittlemotor muffler look like? Similar to the stock Porsche bannana style mufflers?
I am curious, but I don't think I will cut mine open any time soon.

We can do just about anything for the right amount of $$$.
If you don't have tight sound restrictions like at Laguna Seca, swapping in a pair of Stage I silencers is the best way to make your car louder for the track.
Although my EVO mufflers flow really well and I doubt you would see a meaningfull power increase from the change.

I have no idea of the internal details but I am certain mine is different.
As far as I know, no one else has ever applied the techniques I use.
I can tell that just by looking at the exterior.

I won't set the price until testing is completed but it will be consistent with similar mufflers we already make.
I was just watching my 2009 Scare under the Bridge video last night, and I felt a little increase in heart rate as the car drifted off the edge of the track.
The averted disaster isn't quite as obvious in the video as I remember it.
The 2009 crash still hurts when I watch it.
I'm glad it provides good entertainment value though.

No it does not have any merged piping. I'm going for the shortest primaries possible, and no interaction between them.
This moves the torque band up and helps prevent dips in the curve.
By spinning the gasses around the inside perimeter of the canister I'm minimizing turbulence which decreases flow.
The baffles I designed are very free flowing, yet reflect sound waves back to the sound absorbing media at the ends of the muffler.
The outlets are 2" ID, 2 1/2" OD.

I'm on the same coast as you and I've got a fairly stock 2.0 with SS HEs. EMPI carbs. Not very racey but i'm happy to be your guinea pig if nobody closer offers.
Bought it with a Monza/Manta exhaust, I'm just waiting for it to rust out to replace it.

Forgive a newbie question, is the HE system for 2.0 different from the earlier units ?
I have 76 2 liter that presently has the short headers and a Monza system with no heat exchangers, so want to revert to having heat. Do i need to get the heat exchangers with the 3 bolt flange and no direct bolting to the head exhaust ports ?

I didn't have time to look for a valence I could modify.
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachmentI was surprised. It sounds a lot like one of my EVO II Silencers connected to a Tangerine header.
But I think its a little quieter, and I can build it to be louder or more quiet without altering the performance.
I haven't figured out a way to make the loudness adjustable yet.

Looks good, I like the twin center exit pipes. I built something similar but without the "end tanks", could you elaborate on their purpose? Seems like excess weight hanging off of the extreme end of the car though certainly an improvement over the original dansk I am sure.

Large tips like that are popular on many cars today, even on non-sporty cars with tailpipe sizes of only 1 1/4".
They become a styling element of the vehicle, rather than just a way to get rid of exhaust gasses.
I may shorten them an inch or more so that they blend into the valence a little better.
We started forming these in-house recently but so far haven't attempted to trim the ends on an angle so they conform with the angle of the valence.
That's next.
We can easily do a single center tip instead if that's what the customer wants.

The next one I build will be for 1.7 SSIs.
But it probably won't be done in time for Hershey.
Maybe I'll pull the one off my car and bring it so we can mount it on someone else's car for a quick test.
As soon as I've completed sound level testing of a couple ideas I'll be ready to sell them.

I'm real happy with the one I installed on my car. I don't feel any loss of performance compared to the EVO Stock header I removed. (d-jet 1911)
However I would like it to be slightly quieter inside the car at some rpm. It has a mild resonance between 2500-3000 rpm. I have something to try for this.
I don't think its that loud outside the car but I haven't had someone else drive it to hear for myself.
I also want to build one that is a bunch quieter for those who want it that way - hopefuly without a noticeable performance change.
