Hi All -
I am doing some cleaning on the car. My front oil cooler has probably 25 years of road wear. It works great, but looks pretty rough. I am a bit worried about corrosion on the areas where the paint is gone. Can I simply spray it black without affecting it's ability to cool?

Thanks!

most new coolers are painted so I don't think you'd be doing any harm. Lots a aluminum radiators are painted as well.

I bought the Eastwood Radiator Black and it seemed to work really well. Went on very nicely.

I have most of a can of Eastwood silver caliper paint that should work nicely.
In Longmont.

You are welcome to some.
I also have a sand blast cabinet, but it has seen better days (roofers broke the front glass)

Radiator (any heat exchanger) paint is special to facilitate heat transfer, most other paints are not, especially the gloss kinds. I'd strongly suggest you see what your local radiator shop uses, then use the same or maybe let them spray it. Or the Eastwood what was suggested.
