My 72 had a tailshift, i am about to put in a sideshift tranny. i noticed the sideshift fork is straight and the tailshift one has a curvature to it, but they have the same part number. Does it matter which one i use??? Thanks

The fork should be straight. Someone bent the curved one rather than shimming the ball to get full travel after having the flywheel machined.

Hmmm, ok. So I should definitely use the straight one then i assume. Should i also be looking into getting a new flywheel. Could this also have been the result of having a stretched out clutch cable? Thanks for your help.
