Thought it might be nice after driving by an early 911 meet this morning in downtown Campbell, CA. I like the location. Who knows this group? Britain?
Next survey: Who has both a 914 and 911?

That was probably a 912, not an early 911. The NoCal 912 group met this morning in Campbell. I would have gone, but the timing was bad. Their forum is www.912bbs.org. Dave Hillman runs the board, and has a very nice 912 site.

What's the difference?
I have a SoCal friend with a 73 911S in the Rgruppe club.

Early 912 ('65-'69) is a 911 shell with a 356SC engine in it (1600 four-cylinder pushrod, Type 616 engine). The 912E ('76 only) is a 911 shell with a Type IV in it. Less weight, weight better distributed, less power, better mileage, no sexy /6 engine noises. That green thing I had at the last 9:14 breakfast in SJ is a 912, not a 911.

James,
I at least knew the difference of cyl.'s
I'm a body design enthusiast, and the nice classic tear drop shape of the 911/912 is the same to me.
