Hey,

yes, I do the guy's name is Rush Visharn. Hes not super tech savy and told him to post on the 914 forum but hasnt made an account yet i dont think. I've bought a rear view mirror from him before and seemed like a nice guy. He sent me an email about this a day ago. I will probably pop on buy with a box of my random goodies too.

Cheers,
Luke

Bumping an old thread from last year, because this same swap meet is advertised on Craigslist this year again. This Sunday, April 26th.

Link:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/4406593487.html

Did anyone go last year? Was it a big swap/show with great turnout, and are you planning to go again this year?

I am contemplating driving my 914 out there, but it's on the same day as the Madera Spring Fling car show. I don't want to miss the show and drive 2 hours from home if it is a weak little swap meet. But I'd be glad to miss the VW show if there are a couple of dozen Porsches and a bunch of parts for sale.

Any info would be much appreciated!! Thanks

I was at last year's swap meet ... it's only a couple of miles from my house. It was not a big swap meet, very casual. There were about a dozen or so 914s. Several guys were selling a bunch of junk but it was no where near as large as the Parts Heaven swap meet, for example. I'm going to be there again this year and would enjoy meeting you, but if you have another gig that conflicts, I'd say go do the other thing.

Here is a thread about last year's swap meet:

Nahh! Forget that one and come down to the G&R. laugh.gif

G&R is too far for me.

I will come down to the San Jose site for fun. I may bring some parts but not sure.

Hopefully I'll see you there, Mike, but what the hell, it doesn't rain all year and then decides to rain this weekend? I know, I know ... we need the rain ...

Either that is just a mist or your wipers work really well.
Dave_Darling
It's a'rainin' right now in Sunnyvale!!

If the rain holds off Sunday morning I will try to make it down for this. But no guarantees; I may not be able to drive...

I plan to stop by... if nothing, to get out of my 914-hybernation. I'm gonna carry around a 914 gauge cluster for cheap; anyone interested?

Looks like the rain (if there was any) skipped past this area. I'm only about 4 miles from the swap meet locale, so I think we're going to be alright.

Just snapped this pic outside my house ... the ground is dry, so if you were on the fence due to weather, come on out. See you there!

Anyone know who was selling those doors?

boxsterfan
Good times today and glad to see all you 914'ers out there. I picked up a decel valve that looked brand new (maybe NOS but out of the box). Works perfectly!!

We need to get another Bay Area breakfast and fun run afterwards put together again. I think it has been since Alice's Restaurant in December for the last breakfast.
Mike Bellis
Bummed I missed it. I was still playing with my CV's and realized My bolts were too short... sad.gif

I made it with my old Mercedes, the blue 1966. Had a great time and sold some parts.

Thanks to Rush for setting this up!

Cool. Maybe next time, thanks for the photos!
Michael N
Picked up a new side mirror rubber base, a back up TPS for a 2.0 D-Jet in like new condition, and a super clean gas cap the polished up nicely with Flitz for the Bumblebee's gas tank. Thanks Scooter for the super deals. Kathy (aka Jessie today), my son Nolan and I had a good time. Great way to spend a Sunday morning. A big thank you to the organizer.

Bummer. Well, if they were a deal someone probably bought them anyway. And if no one bought them they were probably in bad shape. Or way expensive. Right? Good, now I can feel better about not going and missing out.

In any case if anyone knows these folks names I'd appreciate a note. Thanks.

Wow, what a great turn out! I wanted to go, but we had to be in Half Moon bay for Dream Machines... just around the corner!
Dave_Darling
The doors were evidently from a 74 911. Both had bubbles under the paint near the bottom; evidently water got into both.

Crap. I missed it too. I was rock solid on going but had other issues pop up last minute. Good to see there was a nice turn out!

Nuts - I decided it was going to be rained out and slept in. Sorry I wasn't up to check the dawn patrol's picture post. wink.gif

Ditto on another local drive/breakfast.
