Will any year 914 distributor work on my stock FI '71?

Any stock 914 distributor from a D-jet EFI equipped engine will fit and work on any other D-jet equipped 914 engine. IOW, if it has trigger points it will work. That's assuming it's functional, of course.

Always had trouble counting when I can't see all of my fingers and toes...
The picture for the four and the parts lists shows several different part numbers for the four, depending on the particular engine.
http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-parts/p...arts/901-15.phpI would defer to Captain K, above.

No, they don't. All will function, just not as well as designed.

Yes, will do. Hopefully this will solve my long term engine issues.
Does anyone sell them brand new for reasonable price?

There is a guy who rebuilds Bosch 356 distributors and I recall he started doing 914 ones also.
Cap'n may know of him...if not, you could ask on the 356 registry site.

There are a number of good distributor guys. Biggest issue here is finding a good vacuum unit. They're NLA and the "rebuilt" ones could qualify as crap if they were about 10 times better than they are ....................................

Mark, I have several distributors. If you would like for me to check, I will hit my storage tomorrow and see what all I have.

I happened to be looking for someone to do a rebuild on my dizzy and came across this link:
http://www.glenn-ring.com/bosch/The good news is his site has lots of good pictures of vintage Bosch Porsche distributor rebuilds. The bad news turns out to be he doesn't work on units as new as those found in our 914s. I can't remember the last time someone told me the technology on my Teener was too recent...
