You are getting this *notification* because someone else send you a PM through the forum, *NOT* an email!
if you reply, that reply will end up *in my inbox* instead of in the inbox of the originator of the PM ...

a PM notification email will look like this:

Subject: New Private Message

Your Name Here,

The Other Guy has sent you a new private message entitled "The Title".

You can read this private message by following the link below:

Just a suggestion:

If you set up a user account called donotreply, (and disable it - use su from root to get to it) - then you can create a .forward file that uses formail to bounce the email with a message on it. That way you will never have to deal with this problem again. I have some scriptage around if you need it - I bounce everything that fails spamassassin.
