Just wondering if anyone had thought of the option of a transverse Honda V6 with the manual trans, ala NSX, Dino, Muira and Stratos? You can call it a Pornda if you'd like...

I don't know, but some honda engines turn the wrong way.
Anything is possible, but when you go outside of the realm of what's been done before everything is custom.

Most transverse engines have to axle layout too far forward to work in a 914. So to make it fit, the engine would be in the trunk and not in the engine bay.

With that said, go for it. I love to see new conversions.

I've done some measuring and it seems that it's a fit and true the engine is back a ways, but with some cutting and restructuring (sound familiar?) maybe even adding some angle back of the axles it could be done. No problems with the linkages or rotation issues. I'm still checking tho.

I always thought of getting a $500 roller and putting a honda engine/trani in to get it back on the road as a super cheap super reliable track car or daily, or maybe a D16Z6 engine with an HF trani and try and hit 50mpg.

An engine/trani for a honda is just stupid cheap and parts are so so cheap that it makes a lot of sense.
