Anyway you are bored and you have an Accura NSX sitting in the garage, and you just watched a program that has you salivating for a Ferrari. Well, get off your ass and go make one.
Check out the background cars, interesting looking stuff.

Man that is alot of work. Some people have waaay too much talent but what's up with the radiator hose sticking out the hole in the hood?
It looks very nice but I think i would like it more if it was just a body kit for an NSX instead of a ferrari poser-mobile.
Something about pretending to be something it isn't bothers me.

If I won the lotto, I'd buy a Gremlin, and put a Rolls Royce kit on it, then I'd drive up to your houses in my fake assed Rolls, and ask for mustard, the yellow kind.

What a HUGE waste of money! They could've bought the REAL DEAL after the project is all said and done. Well, at least a real Ferrari and not a fake wanna-be
I've been looking at the 308 GTS...dunno what happened but I've developed a
sudden craving for a Ferrari...and I've never, ever had one...
But I look at the li'l girl in the garage and think, less money and I could have her running.

Honestly. I think its cool...I wouldn't do it myself, assuming I had the time and money, but they are in Japan as well. Over there, wild conversions are a fairly common thing. Also, as funky as it may look, there was serious well done craftsmanship done there....I dont know...my 1.5 cents

I got nothing against wild body kits especicially well done ones like in that link, I just hate the part where they pretend to be a ferrari. What the heck is wrong will being a really wildly modified NSX?

The 308, in fact most of the whole 3 series cars should not be considered.
You will only be laughed at by the Rarri crowd, called Magnum, and the clutch job would make most of a 3.6 914 project.

I saw a Fierrorari (Testarossa style) yesterday. It was heinous.
But I also saw quite a few real ones this week. 360's, 456GT's, Daytona, Dino... schweet

Truelly impressive work. I dont care for it... but they used foam and shaped it before making a mold. Lost of good idea's on how to do stuff from those pics.

Just sold my 308 Ferrari ..... no one laughed, and the 'Magnum' car is still considered to be one of the best designs yet. Main problem with owning one is you have zero privacy....it draws crowds like a magnet.
For the price of a timing belt/clutch/flywheel job on a 308 you could buy several 914-6 cars. Nothing sounds as nice as a Ferrari engine @ redline, but the -6 I was in was mighty impressive too.
Given the choice I would go with an updated 914-6, say 3.0 or larger with modified brakes and suspension over a 308, while the build quality of the 308 is superb, the performance and handeling of the upgraded 914 would outperform the 308.
Also you haven't experienced Hell until you've driven cross-country in summer in a 308!

I've driven cross-country...twice! in my air-cooled Squareback in 100ยบ+ temps, including Dallas, Texas, and their 6 (or 8?) lanes of highway rush-hour traffic that moves slightly slower than molasses in sub-zero weather...I know what driving hell is like and I laugh in it's face
Any way, from the amount of traffic that goes on in the Ferrari forum there isn't such distaste for the 308. Like the 914 it leaves you with wanting more of the marque
But after emailing with MarkG I think I'll stick to investing in my 914 to get her into a more operable status and get the 308 at a later date. And I don't care what other people think; all of the Ferraris are gorgeous cars, just like Porsches (and the 930 is my unicorn
).

Cost of donor car plus the material and hours, and you could buy the real thing. My friend of many years, sold his NSX, and bought a low mileage Testarossa. That car sure made some wonderful noises!

Based on the molds he made this was not a one off type of project, he did it to sell kits and make money. I have no idea who he would sell them to but who knows?
An early 90's NSX can be bought for the high $20k range, a later model is around the low 30's.
The guy I bought my 911 from just bought one for $26.5k.
Great work, I just don't see the logic behind trying to make an NSX into a poser-car.

That's a work of art. And yet - I think it's till rice, because anyone who can invest that much time and money ought to just buy a damned ferarri and be done with.
