1 - Can the dash combo gauge be opened without cutting/grinding?

It looks like the combo gauge has a rolled/crimped lip on the bezel.
I see no way to open it without cutting off that lip.

2 - Why do I have different alternator engine tin/covers?
I have one with a large hole that looks like I am missing a piece to closeout the front of the alt. Then I have another one with a much smaller hole and the gasket/seal that goes behind it.

The two tins are identical except for the hole for the alt pulley.

Use a small flat head screwdriver and work the rolled lip out. You will bend it out a little at a time. Go around the bezel 4-5 times. The bezel and lens will pop off. Install is the reversal.

No idea. I never owned a T4 engine.
