That reminds me, are you going to be around next Sunday? We really need to sort out the front suspension.
It still feels quite unsafe at freeway speeds ...

Now you need to make a rack setup to carry four wheels....
A couple of Thule bars going sideways with kayak holders all bolted to your luggage rack.

You mean chassis brace. I can hear some spot welds crying already.

Funny you say that, I am welding up parts of my car and after ten years, about 6 of which it lived in slicks....there are more than a few cracks on the longs and other odd areas...
Just roaming around and inspecting everything, seam welding as needed...

Speed limit is 55 MPH with a trailer (here in CA, at least). Bridge tolls are higher, too, I think.
The roof rack might be worth thinking about.

Don't you allow a truck to pull a trailer that is pulling a boat? If so, 55 is a good speed limit.

I believe it has to be a "fifth wheel" trailer and you also need to up-grade your drivers license.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that is only true if you're towing the trailer with a truck.
From what i have read, if i pull a small single axle trailer behind the 914 the same speed limit should apply as without the trailer.
They charge you per axle. A car towing a trailer is still a car+trailer(# of axles). There is a sign as you pull up. And yes, you are limited to 55mph (been harassed in CA for that one).
