I have a pair of chrome fog light grills from a 74 parts car that I would like to polish up. Can someone recommend the best method to do this without damaging the chrome finish?

I used the wifes tooth brush and some cheap tooth paste.

Fine steel wool and a waxed finish. Works charms.

Thanks guys, I'll give the tooth brush and tooth paste a try first. If that doesn't do the trick, then it's the fine steel wool.

No steel wool.

I have used fine steel wool followed by car wax polishing on several sets of chromed driving light grill sets. The fine steel wool does not harm the chrome, it simply cleans off the attached road grime. The steel wool I buy for this purpose looks as fine as sheeps wool. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. The wax is for protection.

WD-40 it does it all!

Depending on how serious you are, I know of one owner who had the grills chemically stripped and done in Chrome powder coat. Kinda costly, but boy are they nice. Showroom new looking.
